2 Timothy 4:18 Let no one despise your youth, but be an example to the believers in word, in conduct, in love, in spirit, in faith, in purity.
Romans 1:16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek.
The mission of the Calvary Chapel Greeneville Youth Ministry is to teach our teens the word of God, and help them to not be ashamed of their Faith. It’s our desire that they know the Lord Jesus personally and experience the fullness of His riches and grace made available to them at the Cross. In short, that they would know the Lord and make Him known.
Our students ministry encompasses students from grades 6-12. We have found that combining the middle school and high school enriches the group. The younger students bring an energy and excitement to the group, while the older are able to display a more mature walk with the Lord, and at the same time, provide a role model more closely connected to their peer group.
There are three basic elements to the youth group: head, heart, and hands.
1) We have a formal time of Bible study after worship on Sunday morning. We place a major emphasis on the word of God. We don’t measure success by the amount of pizza parties we can have but by how much of the Bible we can get into our student’s heads and hearts. However, we don’t just want to create Bible eggheads. Therefore…
2) We also try to create an atmosphere of fellowship, where our students can build relationships, and experience what it means to be a part of the Body of Christ. We do this through times of casual hang out at church, home fellowship gatherings, attending youth retreats, concerts, lock-ins, etc.
3) Jesus said, He did not come to be served but to serve and give His life as a ransom for many. We also believe in the importance of Christ like service. We encourage the youth to serve in a variety ministries throughout the church. That being said, we also believe in reaching out into our community. We are always praying, looking, and listening for ways to serve those in our backyard and neighboring towns.
We hope that you will prayerfully consider making our church home your church home and allow your student(s) to be apart of our Youth Group family.
