Calvary Chapel Greeneville held its first service Sunday in the remodeled Kiser Funeral Home, the site of its new home. "Everyone was excited," said Pastor Gary Hall.
He added, "All went well. We had a good turnout on Sunday.
"We're just so excited about the opportunity that the Lord has given us with this new, larger facility to minister to the community and spread the good news of Jesus Christ."It was a belssing to see the amount of support we've gotten remodeling the facility," Hall said.
The pastor said Calvary will continue with its regular schedule of services: 9 a.m. and 10:45 a.m. on Sundays; 6:30 p.m. on Sundays for its interactive Bible studies; expository, or verse-by-verse, teaching, on Wednesdays, at 7 p.m.; and a U-Turn For Christ service at 7 p.m. on Fridays.
Ministry is now available for mothers with new-born babies and others on up through high school, he added.
The new church also has a café and a bookstore. Calvary Chapel Greeneville was in its storefront location at 1217 Snapps Ferry Road for almost 12 years. It bought the Kiser Funeral Home in February.
Its new address is 401 West Main Street. The church phone number is (423)636-2607.
Hall said the church will have a formal dedication ceremony later this year.
