Luke 6:27 But I say to you who hear Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you.

I know what you must be thinking. Love your enemies! Really? Has Jesus lost His mind? How could anyone want us to love our enemies? Yet that is exactly what Jesus wants us to do. Even though I am sure He knows that it isn’t easy to love someone that you may down right hate. In our quest to be more like Jesus, since the bible says we should be like Jesus, we can’t possibly be like Jesus, if we have hatred in our hearts and we don’t love everyone. This includes our enemies. The scriptures clearly show that Jesus never truly hated anyone. For He had love for all of mankind. Even those who hated Him. This is evident through His sacrifice on the cross for all mankind. This sacrifice was not just for those who love Him but for those who for someone reason hated him as well. As stated in Luke 6:32 But if you love those who love you what credit is that to you? For even sinners love those who love them. If Jesus can love all of mankind including his enemies why can’t we? Perhaps the world would be a much better, happier, and more peaceful place if we could all just be more like Jesus and learn to love all mankind, especially our enemies. For now let’s practice what is found in His word. Luke 6:35 But love your enemies, do good, and lend, hoping for nothing in return; and your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High. For He is kind to the unthankful and evil.
