Ephesians 4:6—One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.
Many have had the blessing of having a loving, caring, strong, kind, father. A father who has been the head of his household. One who has brought much joy and happiness into the family. One who would lift you up when you were feeling down, one that would rejoice with you when you succeeded.
On the contrary, sadly enough, many have grown up with fathers that were abusive, harsh, self-centered. Some with absentee fathers that put more hours in their lives at work than time at home with their families. Some have even been completely abandoned by their fathers.
The good news is that our God the Father has adopted us!!! He tells us this truth in Romans 8:15—For you have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you have received the spirit of adoption, whereby we cry ABBA FATHER. Again He gives us a great promise in 2 Corinthians 6:18—And I will be a Father unto you, and you shall be my sons & daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.
In Jesus we will no way ever be abandoned—John 6:37—All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me—I will in NO WAU CAST OUT!!!
Our Heavenly Father wants to give us all the good and wonderful things that He has in store for our lives. Matthew 7:11—If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more shall your Father which is in Heaven give good things to them that ask Him.
Yes, let’s take time to celebrate fathers. And let us take time to thank God that no matter what our earthly father is like, He is truly loved us and given us opportunity to spend an eternity in Heaven with Him as we repent and turn away from our sins and ask Jesus to cleanse us and and fill our lives.
Philippians 4:20—Now unto God and our Father be glory forever and ever. AMEN
