Called to be Peacemakers
Matthew 5:9—Blessed are the Peacemakers for they shall be called the children of God.

We have all been in situations that just got our blood pumping and our faces red with anger. It could be that impossible co-worker, our spouses attitude, our children’s disobedience, or even the person driving a bit too slow in front of us. Never does God tell us that we should not ever get mad. He tells us what to do during the times that we feel these kinds of emotions. He has given us a way to escape from embarrassing ourselves by reacting to quickly and wrongly only later having to repent. Below is some of the advice that God gives us in the Bible.
Proverbs 21:23—Those who keep their mouth and their tongues keep themselves from calamity
James 3:18—Peacemakers who sow in peace reap a harvest of righteousness.
Proverbs 15:1—A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger.
Ephesians 4:26—In your anger do not sin. Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry.
Romans 12:16—Live in harmony with each other. Don’t be too proud to enjoy the company of ordinary people. And don’t think you know it all!! (Yes, that IS in the Bible…)
Colossians 3:13—Bear with each other and forgive one another, if any of you has a grievance against someone, forgive as the Lord forgave you.
Let’s heed all of this Godly advice and choose to become peacemakers. Let’s not let pride get in our way. Our Godly responses could lead to somebody’s transformation.
Proverbs 11:2—Pride leads to disgrace, but with humility comes wisdom.
