I was saved in 1991 after living a life of despair that included drugs and alcohol. I began attending Calvary Chapel Hemet, located in Southern California. Soon after, the Lord called me to be a pastor, so I served under Pastor Gary Johnson who agreed to patiently disciple me, showing me in the process what constitutes a true pastor’s heart: tending to the spiritual needs of the congregation. I began leading Bible studies and serving in every area that I possibly could.
After five years of learning and growing in the ways of the Lord, the Lord clearly directed me to step out in faith and plant a Calvary Chapel church in an area where there was not this style of ministry. I had been blessed by the teaching of the word and had a desire that others would experience the same blessing. In 1997, the Lord led me to establish a Calvary Chapel in the town of Greeneville, TN.
In 1999, I married my lovely wife. God has also increased my family by blessing us with three beautiful children. Truly may the Lord be magnified!
My heart’s desire is to teach the living word of God, to be a light in our community and in all the world. The following verses have been my motivation for service:
“But when He saw the multitudes, He was moved with compassion for them, because they were weary and scattered, like sheep having no shepherd. Then he said to his disciples, the harvest truly is plentiful, but the laborers are few. Therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest.” Matthew 9:36-38
May the word of the Lord go forth and bring in the harvest here in East Tennessee and in the entire world!
