1 Corinthians 7:34 There is a difference between a wife and a virgin. The unmarried women cares about the things of the Lord that she may be holy both in body and in spirit. But she who is married cares about the things of the world how she may please her husband.

Often times in life we will experience seasons of singleness. For some of us that seems to happen more often then others, and for longer periods of time. For some it can be tough being single. Even a bit depressing. Especially when it seems like everywhere you look you are surrounded by married couples who just seem so happy and in love. It just seems to be a reminder that you haven’t anyone and are alone. But you aren’t alone. For we have the Lord. An as it says in Isaiah 54:5 For your maker is your husband the Lord of hosts is his name and your redeemer is the Holy One of Israel. He is called the God of the whole earth. It also says in Hosea 2:19-20 I will betroth you to me forever yes I will betroth you to me in righteousness and justice in loving kindness and mercy. I will betroth you to me in faithfulness and you shall know the Lord. So when we are experiencing seasons of singleness most of the time it is because the Lord is wanting us to draw closer to Him and be focused only on Him. As it says in 1 Corinthians 7:35 And this I say for your own profit not that I may put a leash on you but for what is proper and that you may serve the Lord without distraction. And we all know that relationships can and often tend to distract us from our relationship with the Lord. One thing I do believe is when it comes to seasons of singleness you can take heart that it won’t last forever. If the Lord has intended for you to be with someone other then just Him you can rest assured that when He feels the time is finally right, He will bring that person into your life. When He finally does it will be so worth the wait.
